for being with us. join us again tomorrow night from dublin, i'll have my interview with president bill clinton. right now it's time for "the ed show" with ed schultz. >>> good evening, americans and welcome to "the ed show" tonight from new york, these stories on the table and really hitting my hot buttons tonight. >>> new jersey governor chris christie cares about really two things, money and power. he sathinks the key to educatio is cutting teacherer's pensions and doing away with job security. the guy is an anti-union dude, antiworker and he's trying to raise his political profile on the backs of workers, my commentary on new jersey's teacher of the year is also going to be here to sound-off on all of that. >>> newt gingrich's trying to fire up the tea party nut jobs by calling president obama a threat to our basic way of life. and then he's preaching about values? his cry for attention really at this point is pretty sad, isn't it? >>> and after talking about mice with human brains and monkey evolution i was wondering where christine o'donnell actually went to school. it turns out s

the mosque there. and, of course, muslims do not want us to burn the koran. the imam has agreed to move the mosque. we have agreed to cancel our event on saturday. and on saturday, i will be flying up there to meet with him. >> all right, all right. time-out. folks, you can't believe a word this guy is saying. he's been shooting from the hip for days now. now, right now, nbc news is reporteding that there is no deal with the new york imam to move the cultural center away from where it was proposed here in manhattan. what's infuriating, really infuriating about all of this is that this -- the world basically has been held hostage by this pastor jones, a small-time lunatic zealot. this nut has gotten the president of the united states, the state department, the pentagon, the fbi, general petraeus, hillary clinton and interpol. it doesn't get any higher than that, does it? we have to really put this in perspective. this is an unparalleled example in my opinion in the information age of how a fly on the wall can suck the air out of the room to the point where the president of the united sta

in cleveland, he attacked us for closing a few of these loopholes. mr. boehner and the republicans in congress said no to these projects. fought them tooth and nail. mr. boehner has so far said no to infrastructure, that's bad for america. so let me be clear to mr. boehner and everybody else, we should not hold middle class tax cuts hostage any longer. when these same republicans, including mr. boehner, were in charge, the number of earmarks and pet projects went up, not down. >> is that the presidentรง gettg turbocharged in the president hammered boehner throughout the speech including this. when he laid out an incredible small business idea and proposal. i am proposing that all-american businesses should be allowed to write off all the investment they do in 2011. and this will help small businesses upgrade their plants and equipment and will encourage large corporations to get off the sidelines and start putting their profits to work in places like cleveland and toledo and dayton. to most of you, i'll bet this just seems like common sense. but not to mr. boehner and his allies. >> i think t

speaker who takes upon himself the role of gatekeeper. that's "hardball" for now. thanks for being with us. right now it's time for the "the ed show" with ed shultz. >>> good evening americans and welcome to the "the ed show" k, these rom n stories are hit my hot buttonsa this is hr. newt gingrich, i think, has hit a new low. playing to the birther fringe of the republican party. accusing the president of the united states of having a kenyon world view. you won't believe how low this guy has gone. i've got commentary on that. this kind of radical thinking has infuriated our schools across the country, educators are trying to keep your kids away from president obama. parents are being warned about indoctrination during his back-to-school speech. my commentary on all of that coming up in just a moment. >>> and the tan man's act, well, he's got to find a new act. he wants to -- you to believe, that he really cares about the middle class and the middle-class tax cuts. democratic house majority whip, jim clyburn will be here to ow his cover in the battleground story. >>> this of course the stor

the last several decades. that's it's what has got us into this bankrupt position. >> and what does this say about international intervention? do you want to go down that road, mr. candidate, from alaska. some reason, democrats and focus on the money in just a moment. for some reason the democrats have allowed the conservatives to outmaneuver them when it comes to fiscal responsibility and that whole conversation. keep in mind, i'll say this every night before the rally and every night before the election, we got into this mess under their watch. we got under this mess and damn near went bankrupt because of the hundreds and billions of dollars that we spent on a war and nobody had any idea how we were going to pay for it. these masses tax cuts for the superrich in this country is what has got us where we are. and the congress rubber stamped every dime the former president demanded for the war in iraq, and voted over and over again for the bush tax cuts, and cut deals. i wonder how ben nelson feels about that $18 million he got for homeland security as the they bought his vote so he
